Keke Palmer Opens Up About Misogyny Post-Relationship | Entertainment

Keke Palmer has candidly discussed how her childhood led to a “rude awakening” when she started dating. Speaking on her ‘Baby, This is Keke Palmer’ podcast, the actress expressed that she thought all men would be respectful towards women. She was raised in a household where women were respected so “misogyny came at me hard and quick, with the quickness” “I grew up in a house where my mom would say, ‘This is what it needs to be’… outside of my household I saw that everybody doesn’t really respect their wives or even women in the way that my dad respects my mom, it was a pretty rude awakening”, said Palmer. The 30-year-old also spoke about being in an “intimate scenario with someone” and not feeling understood and seen. This comes after a temporary restraining order against her ex, Darius Jackson, as he allegedly assaulted her and their 9-month-old son.
