This weekend, glam-looking Los Angelenos raced to check out the triumphant return of fan fave Beautycon, presented by Walmart. The weekend-long extravaganza also marked the return of the event to The Reef in DTLA.
After a fun-filled opening day, with notable guests that included film and TV star Marsai Marin, Day 2 of the event kicked off with a heartfelt welcome from Caroline Wanga, Essence Ventures CEO and President, and Sophia Dennis, Founder of Phace Media.
The in-person event, presented by Walmart, gives voice to exciting beauty brands across the spectrum, from established industry giants to emerging and innovative lines.
The day featured exciting panel discussions, beauty demos, masterclasses and shopping opportunities as well as a beauty playground from Walmart Makers Studio, where guests could elevate their looks, snap a fun pic, and continue to discover new trends and products. Multicultural beauty brands that are avail at Walmart were also featured.
Day 2 also featured main stage appearances with well-known names in the beauty industry including Rico Nasty, Plastique, and Saucy Santana.
Other can’t miss moments included Makeup Mastery with Sydney Morgan, Jesse Jagger, and Gabriel Zaora as beauty influencers-to-be were invited to learn how to build a brand and develop content via panels and discussions, which included a content creation 101 masterclass hosted by content creator Kennedy Murray. And beauty mavens learned some new skills that ranged from how to create unconventional and creative glam punk looks that defy traditional #looksoftheday, how to create awesome nail art, and what it’s really like to balance beauty and motherhood — as well as getting the inside scoop about just what goes into creating the products for today’s most popular brands.
