Kysre Gondrezick waived by Chicago Sky

Former West Virginia University guard, and former top five WNBA Draft pick, Kysre Gondrezick has been waived by the Chicago Sky. The organization announced the roster move Friday.

Gondrezick appeared in five games for Chicago this season, seeing her first action in the WNBA since 2021. The former Mountaineer averaged 1.0 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per game in limited playing time. She was seeing, on average, just over three minutes on the court per contest.

Gondrezick was the No. 4 overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2021 draft. She played 19 games for Indiana that season.

She signed a training camp contract with Chicago in February.

Gondrezick averaged 19.5 points per game during her senior season at West Virginia. She is the highest-drafted player in program history.
