Marilyn Manson’s former assistant, Ashley Walters, has won an appeal allowing her to proceed with her lawsuit against him. Walters filed the lawsuit in 2021, accusing Manson of sexual harassment and assault. She claims that the typical two-year statute of limitations didn’t apply as she suppressed her memories until 2020. Despite the court dismissing her case in May 2022, a tribunal with California’s Second Appellate District reversed the ruling. “This is a great victory for all survivors as it provides a clear path for issues of repressed memories and delayed discovery in these types of cases…We think that sends a message,” said James Vagnini, Walters’s lawyer. Manson’s legal team has not yet commented on the decision. He is currently facing multiple allegations of abuse from various women.
