Maren Morris has filed for divorce from Ryan Hurd after five years of marriage, according to a Tennessee court clerk who spoke with E! News. Court records show that Morris cited “irreconcilable differences” as the grounds for the divorce. The court records also stated that the pair were living together until the day of the filing, caring for their three-year-old son, Hayes. Morris asked that their divorce agreement include joint custody of their son, who was born on March 23, 2020. During Sunday Sitdown with Today’s Willie Geist, the singer revealed that she suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth. “I think a lot of identity crises happened there. Not just being a new parent and a new mother and dealing with postpartum depression,” explained Morris. She also revealed that she and Hurd continued to write music during that difficult period.
