MATCH PREVIEW: Revolution II Host Inter Miami CF II on Sunday Afternoon


HOOKSETT, N.H. (April 27, 2024) – New England Revolution II (1-3-1; 5 pts.) will host its first of eight home games this season at Southern New Hampshire University’s Mark A. New England hosts Miami for the first and only meeting between the two sides this season following a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC II on Friday night at York Lions Stadium. Revolution II secured the additional point with a 5-4 shootout victory. Forward Marcos Dias notched his second goal of the season in first-half stoppage time, equalizing the match off an assist from Alex Monis. Dias’ tally was his 17th goal with Revolution II since he joined the club in 2022, tying the team’s all-time scoring record.

Alongside Dias, Joshua Bolma, Victor Souza, Luka Borovic and Alex Parvu all converted on their penalty kick attempts in the shootout win. Parvu, a U-19 defender with the Revolution Academy, entered the match in the 81st minute to become the 32nd MLS NEXT player to make his professional debut with New England’s second team. On the defensive end, goalkeeper JD Gunn also made his professional debut with a three-save effort and later made one save and forced two misses to help secure Revolution II’s first shootout victory of the year.

New England has amassed a 6-2-0 record against Miami since 2020, dating back to USL League One. The two sides last met on July 9, 2023 at the former DRV PNK Stadium, where New England earned a 2-0 shutout victory. Homegrown forward Malcolm Fry tallied his third goal of the 2023 season, while Homegrown defender Peyton Miller became the youngest player to score his first professional goal with Revolution II in the match. Prior to having a bye week during Matchweek 6, Inter Miami II fell to Chattanooga FC, 6-2, on April 13 at Finley Stadium.
