Maverick Men’s Track & Field Climbs to Fifth in USTFCCCA Rating Index – Minnesota State University


NEW ORLEANS — The Minnesota State men’s track and field team has moved up to fifth in the most recent edition of the USTFCCCA DII Rating Index.

MSU, which was ranked ninth in the previous index, improved four spots after claiming its 12th straight NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

As a team, the Mavericks have five national top-five marks and nine top-10 marks. Senior Shemar Miller leads NCAA Division II in the triple jump event with a jump of 16.02m.

Pittsburg State sits atop the index with 382.75 points and is followed by Grand Valley State in second with 333.22 points. West Texas A&M (305.26) and Missouri Southern (282.05) sit in third and fourth, respectively, with the Mavericks following in fifth with 260.84 points.

The NCAA Outdoor Championships are scheduled for May 23-25 and will be held at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.
