McDonald’s heats up the summer with a new $5 Meal Deal nationwide

As summer heats up across the United States, McDonald’s is making waves with the launch of its latest value menu, designed to delight budget-conscious customers and satisfy cravings without breaking the bank.

Starting June 25, the fast-food giant is rolling out its highly anticipated $5 Meal Deal at participating locations nationwide, marking a significant addition to its lineup of wallet-friendly options.

The $5 Meal Deal includes a choice between a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, complemented by small fries, a four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink—all for just $5. This comprehensive offering aims to provide a filling meal at an affordable price, perfect for families, students, and anyone looking to stretch their dollars while enjoying McDonald’s iconic flavors.

We heard our fans loud and clear—they want more value from us, especially during the summer season,” remarked Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA. “Value has always been at the heart of McDonald’s, and with our new $5 Meal Deal, we’re continuing our commitment to offering delicious, affordable options that customers can enjoy whether they’re dining in, using the Drive Thru, or ordering through our app.

In addition to the $5 Meal Deal, McDonald’s is enhancing its value proposition with exclusive offers through the McDonald’s App. ‘Free Fries Friday’ allows app users to enjoy a free medium fry with any $1 minimum purchase every Friday nationwide, extending the value even further through the end of 2024. Furthermore, in celebration of National French Fry Day on July 13, customers can snag free fries of any size without needing to make a purchase, exclusively through the app.

Local McDonald’s franchisees are also joining the summer savings celebration with tailored deals that cater to community tastes and preferences. From breakfast specials like Buy One Get One for $1 on breakfast sandwiches in Memphis, Tennessee, to lunch and dinner pairings such as a Double Cheeseburger with small fries for $3.50 in Columbus, Ohio, these offers highlight the diversity of local menus and the commitment of McDonald’s operators to delivering value to their neighborhoods.

“As franchise owners, we’re dedicated to providing great value and creating memorable experiences for our customers,” said John Palmaccio, McDonald’s Owner/Operator and Operator’s National Advertising (OPNAD) Fund Chair. “The $5 Meal Deal complements the everyday savings found in our local deals, like discounts on larger orders or special promotions on beverages, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their favorites at prices that make sense.”

To sweeten the deal further, McDonald’s is incentivizing customers with its MyMcDonald’s Rewards program, where every dollar spent earns 100 reward points. These points can be redeemed for free menu items, from sandwiches to Happy Meals, adding an extra layer of savings for loyal patrons throughout the summer and beyond.
