Meghan And Harry Opt For New Surnames For Their Children | Entertainment

According to The Times, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have given their two children new names amidst their rebranding. Prince Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Princess Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor are now known as Archie and Lilibet Sussex. They have been referred to as the Sussexes since King Charles’ coronation, similar to how Harry was referred to as Captain Wales in the military. The children’s alternative names break the tradition established by Queen Elizabeth II in 1960 of all heirs being named Mountbatten-Windsor. Harry and Meghan are also being criticized for changing the name of their website from Archwell.com to Sussex.com. The return to Sussex comes after they dropped the “Sussex Royal” title in 2020, as it was reportedly a point of contention at Buckingham Palace.
