Method Man has been tapped as the host of this years Black Women in Hollywood Awards, which celebrates the most accomplished and decorated women in film and television.
Presented by ESSENCE, the 17th annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards ceremony will take place March 7 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles. The top honorees for this year include Academy Award-nominated actress and Grammy award-winner Danielle Brooks and six-time Grammy nominated-singer and leading actress Halle Bailey.
Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for STARZ, and All American showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll will also be among those acknowledged during the gala.
On March 8, ESSENCE will follow the Black Women in Hollywood Awards gala with its fifth annual ESSENCE Hollywood House in Los Angeles.
The experience will be geared towards “aspiring filmmakers, actors and TV & film enthusiasts” and include networking opportunities, mentorship sessions, and skill-building workshops intended to “educate and inspire” those in attendance.
ESSENCE will continue its celebration of Black film and television luminaries at the fifth annual ESSENCE Hollywood House, which will be held one day after on Friday, March 8th in Los Angeles.
Created as “a resource for emerging and established Black & Brown creatives,” the ESSENCE Hollywood House has been described as an immersive experience for aspiring filmmakers, actors and TV & film enthusiasts.
The event will include “thoughtful programming” such as panel discussions, fireside chats, and other resources to help promote and facilitate growth within the entertainment industry.
