Michael Jackson’s Unreleased Studio Recordings Withdrawn From Sale | Entertainment

25 master tapes from Michael Jackson’s recording sessions have been pulled from an auction site after his estate said they would take legal action. The tapes were recordings of Jackson singing at The Hit Factory Recording Studio in 1994. They reportedly feature the global pop star performing unreleased tracks, including ‘Lost in Love’, ‘Like U’, ‘New Jelly’ and ‘Rescue Me.’ The auction house Gotta Have Rock and Roll put the tapes on offer last month, which immediately caught the attention of Jackson’s estate. The dealers estimated the tapes to be worth $500 to $4,000. The lawyer for Jackson’s estate, Alex Spiro, contacted the auctioneer, saying he was 24 hours away from filing a preliminary injunction. The auctioneer allegedly responded with a letter stating that they would “not comply,” however, the 25 tapes have been removed from the site.
