MPTF Telethon to Air on KTLA With Tom Bergeron, Yvette Nicole Brown – The Hollywood Reporter

Tom Bergeron and Yvette Nicole Brown will soon be heading back to the KTLA studio to host the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s telethon Lights, Camera, Take Action!: Caring for Hollywood’s Crews.

The second installment of the fundraising special will air live on KTLA on Dec. 9 from 7-9 p.m. The pair, who are also producing, will appear during a program that will also feature stories, songs and celebrities all to raise emergency relief funds for workers in need on the heels of Hollywood’s dual strikes.

The roster of talent set to appear includes Camilla Belle, Kyle Bornheimer, Jeff Bridges, Darren Criss, Lena Dunham, Colin Farrell, Jason George, Clark Gregg, Lalah Hathaway, Jodie Foster, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Wendy Liebman, Michael McKean, Leslie Odom Jr., Annette O’Toole, Phil Rosenthal, Daniela Ruah, Tiffany Smith, John Stamos, Billy Bob Thornton, Wilmer Valderrama, Ming-Na Wen, David Wild and more. Rosenthal and Wild are also producing the telethon, which is being supported by presenting sponsors City National Bank and UCLA Health.

The first telethon aired on KTLA 5 on Dec. 10, 2022, and it raised more than $850,000 for entertainment industry workers. The goal for next month’s event has been set at $750,000. “We can’t say it more clearly: Our industry workforce has experienced a financial tsunami with production shut down for months and months,” said MPTF president and CEO Bob Beitcher. “They need the support of everyone who treasures film and television and wants to support those who make it all happen.”

Added KTLA vp and general manager Janene Drafs: “Teaming up with MPTF again this year for our second telethon is a truly joyous way to bring joy for the holidays and help those who need it after such a challenging year. We can’t wait to see what happens and are so happy to give back to our community in such a meaningful way.”
