New Painted Portrait Of Kate Middleton Causes Controversy Online | Entertainment

A new portrait of Kate Middleton has caused controversy online, only one week after a similar portrait of King Charles got a similar response. The portrait of the Princess of Wales was commissioned by Tatler magazine as part of a series of portraits of the British royal family. The magazine was inspired by the royal’s appearance in November 2022 at the first official state banquet under King Charles’ reign. At this event, Middleton wore a Jenny Packham gown, a bracelet that belonged to Queen Elizabeth II and earrings that belonged to Princess Diana. Middleton did not pose for the portrait herself, but instead, the artist, Hannah Uzor, went through over 189,000 photos of her to “capture her likeness.” Uzor told Tatler that she tried to capture the “soul” of the princess in the painting. The painting was met with mixed opinions, and one Instagram user commented, “The painting is beautiful but does not look like the princess.” While another said, “I don’t understand this painting. I don’t see a resemblance to the princess in any way.”
