As said elsewhere: very solid Direct (@Tayrailbridge: haha, I was only able to stamp 1/16th of my Bingo Card, haha ).
Just a few thoughts:
1.Very happy to finally see a little bit of Prime 4 (although I was a bit afraid at first, for it started of as the opening of a Halo game (which is not a bad thing of course, I do like Halo (especially the first one) but not something I would like to see too much in an exploring-oriented franchise – hopefully it will just be the heavily action oriented starting section of the game which will lead to Samus losing her powers (again) and being send through a portal? (seen in the last shot) (and some of the marines are trying to move an artifact into a ship – what maybe has something to do with the portal/rift?) to a lovely world bustling with flora and fauna (and as a bonus: the Mana Tree in the back – Visions of Mana confirmed, haha) – I really loved the ending of the trailer with the mysterious music and all – will definitely get that one somewhere along the way;
2.MIO looks very promising with its beautiful artstyle and interesting gameplay (I only hope it is not too fast and chaotic all the time) and was a prime (no pun intended) example of what trailers should be about – will keep that one close on my radar;
3.Normally I am not that much into the Mario & Luigi games (never really clicked with me as a kid that was a bit too much into JRPG’s, haha), but this one does look like a lot of fun and had a great selection of charming characters and potential puzzle-mechanics – maybe this one will win me over to the franchise;
4.Also very happy that Stray is coming to the Switch, though I must admit I did miss the amazing raytracing-trailer from when it was first announced elsewhere a few years ago – let’s hope the next console indeed is backwards-compatible – will wait for more news about the next console before getting my paws all over this one;
5.So far I wasn’t really interested in the remakes of the Dragon Quest games, but damn, I just absolutely adore the HD-2D style and with the other 2 in the trilogy also being announced and even having Orchestral music, my future me will probably pick those up somewhere in the not too distant future;
6.Also looking forward to a bit more information about the next Zelda game, which at first glance looked a lot like a possible remake or sequel to “A Link to the Past” (maybe it still is a sequel now I think about it again). Really like that they are taking the Wisdom-route with Zelda as the lead, but hope (and I have no doubt that it wouldn’t be the case eventually) that it will be a bit more than just “echoing” tables, beds and stools à la Minecraft (I am just hoping they just wanted to show of the mechanics, without spoilering it too much – just like they did with the first gameplay-trailer of TotK). The parts in the “rifts” looked extra promising in my opinion and maybe I am mistaken but did Zelda end up in a prison cell (again)?
7.Oowh and the future additions to NSO were a lovely surprise also, can’t wait to play Perfect Dark for the first time (have fond memories of watching my cousins playing this game way back in the days) and will definitely replay Zero Mission and Four Swords somewhere inbetween games on my, even at the end of its life-cycle, ever growing backlog.
