The free Nightfall concert featuring Nick Lutsko & The 100K Band this Friday will leave you “Grinning Like a Barracuda” afterward.
The Chattanooga multi-instrumentalist and songwriter and his human-sized puppet band has been making music and producing comedic parodies online for years.
Specializing in psychedelic rock, pop, and absurdist creations, Lutsko got an early start in music, picking up a guitar in the fourth grade and creating a band in high school.
He has been booked for events like Riverbend and Between the Bridges before, later winning the 2016 Road to Nightfall competition.
A release from Nightfall said they guarantee a high-energy, theatrical show from Lutsko and his band.
If you can’t get enough of his band, he has organized an after party at JJ’s Bohemia, with Jakey Lutsko opening at 9:00pm.
The following performance is the second part of Lutsko’s “Cuatro de Lusko” weekend, featuring four performances and hangouts.
Back at Nightfall, the Randy Steele & High Cold Wind, a local bluegrass band, will warm up the stage at 7:00pm, followed by Lutsko at 8:00pm.
Steele is an award-winning banjo player and singer/songwriter, most recently recognized as a finalist in the “New Folk” songwriting competition at the Kerville Folk Festival in Texas.
A variety of local food trucks will be around the intersection of Georgia Avenue and M.L. King Boulevard.
Nightfall Happy Hour will host a variety of weekly drink specials before the performances from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.
Local artisans will also have booths set up, offering their work for sale in Miller Park.
Children can enjoy the Chattanooga Football Club’s inflatable soccer field, face painting, and lawn games.
Free motorcycle parking will be offered on M.L. King Boulevard between Georgia Avenue and Lindsey Street.
There are two remaining Nightfall concerts this Summer:
- August 23: Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers opened by Confreres
- August 30: AJ Lee & Blue Summit opened by New Dismembered Tennesseans
