The capsule has launched ahead of Illumination’s new action-packed original comedy about a family of ducks, in theaters December 22nd
New York, NY – November 27, 2023 – This holiday season, Illumination, creators of the blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the Minions and Despicable Me franchises, invites you to take flight into the thrill of the unknown with a funny, feathered family vacation like no other: Migration. To celebrate the new animated film, about a family of ducks who embark on a vacation from their New England pond, via New York City, to tropical Jamaica, Illumination brought together the most iconic sports brand in history, Nike, and one of the nation’s most beloved and legendary mascots, the University of Oregon Duck, to release a special-edition capsule collection.
The apparel capsule consists of a long-sleeve shirt, a hoodie, and T-shirts featuring graphics that capture the humor of the characters from the movie, and which passionate U of O Ducks fans can sport with pride. The capsule collection is available now for purchase on eOregonSports.com, Fanatics.com, and at Dicks Sporting Goods in Portland, Eugene, Salem and Lake Oswego, as well as six Oregon Ducks Store locations, with prices ranging from $30 – $70.
The collaboration also featured several activations around Oregon’s home football game against Oregon State this past Friday, Nov. 24. Co-branded elements and experiences included Migration x Duck decals on the exterior of Autzen Stadium, an appearance by Migration star Gwen Mallard in the Fan Fest area, a special stadium entrance by the University of Oregon Duck and Gwen, and original social content posted across Oregon Athletics social media accounts. The partnership between Illumination and the University of Oregon Athletics Department was facilitated by athletics multimedia rightsholder Oregon Sports Properties, the Eugene-based team of LEARFIELD – the leading media and technology company powering college sports.
Produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and directed by the Oscar®-nominated filmmaker Benjamin Renner, Migration is a visual spectacle unlike any in Illumination’s acclaimed history.
