Mississippi State kept the Ole Miss offense at bay, especially in the first half, but two second half Rebels touchdowns and two missed field goals from the Bulldogs helped Lane Kiffin’s win the Egg Bowl 17-7 in Starkville, Miss.
Ole Miss is known for its high-powered offense, but Mississippi State held the Rebels to just three points in the first half, and took a 7-3 lead on their first drive out of the break. But the Rebels quickly answered back with Quinshon Judkins’ first touchdown of the night.
Jaxson Dart extended the Ole Miss lead in the fourth quarter with a touchdown to Caden Prieskorn. The Bulldogs had opportunities, but two field goal misses kept them from making it a one-score game late, and they ultimately fell 17-7.
