Olivia Rodrigo returned to Saturday Night Live on Dec. 9 to deliver a pair of unforgettable performances from her chart-topping album Guts.
During the Adam Driver-hosted episode, the 20-year-old singer opened her musical guest appearance with a stripped-down piano version of her hit song “Vampire,” which spent two weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart in July.
Rodrigo stirred things up with her second performance of “All-American B—-,” during which she dramatically stabbed a blood-red cake and smeared it over her face while chaotically rocking out on a fancy dinner table.
Both songs appear on Rodrigo’s sophomore album, Guts, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in September.
Rodrigo also made a surprise cameo during the “Tiny Ass Bag” sketch, where she played a retail employee promoting a teeny tiny blue carry-on bag. Watch it here.
The latest SNL episode marked Driver’s fourth time hosting and Rodrigo’s second musical guest appearance. It followed her May 2021 debut on the long-running sketch comedy show, during which she performed “drivers license” and “good 4 u,” her pair of No. 1 Hot 100 hits from sour.
That same season, SNL aired a buzzy sketch starring host Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton) in which a group of men listen to “drivers license” on a bar jukebox and end up passionately singing along to the heartbreak hit by the end.
