Paris Hilton Spearheads Law Change For Child Protection | Arts And Entertainment

Paris Hilton is “turning pain into purpose” and striving for a law change on child abuse so that “no child is abused in the name of ‘treatment.’” Hilton shared with The Telegraph that she is constantly reminded of a “childhood that was stolen from me” and wants to protect children. “At 16 years old, in the middle of the night, two men forcibly entered my bedroom and asked if I “wanted to go the easy way or the hard way.” I thought in that split second that I was taking my last breaths…”, shared Hilton. She was a “troubled teen” and was brought to numerous institutions where she was physically, emotionally and sexually abused. Hilton was unable to discuss this for decades but is now aiming to introduce the Federal, Bipartisan Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act. This bill would create federal data collection and reporting standards for children and “provide states with best practices to prevent all abuse.”
