Paul Mescal, who is set to star in ‘Gladiator 2, is concerned that he may get depressed if the movie makes him globally famous. Mescal, who is playing Lucius in the sequel, hopes the film’s reception doesn’t alter his day-to-day life. The actor, known for his role in ‘Normal People’, acknowledged the impact that the original ‘Gladiator’ film had on Russell Crowe’s fame. “Is it just that more people will stop you in the street? I’d get profoundly depressed if that’s so and hope it isn’t true. I’ll have an answer next year, but if [Gladiator 2] impacts my life in that way, I’ll be in a bad spot. I’d have to move on and do an obtuse play nobody wants to see,’ Mescal told The Sunday Times. He emphasized his aversion to a secluded VIP lifestyle, fearing it would make him a “boring human.”
