Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won People’s Choice Awards, though neither attended the ceremony
Taylor Swift had a successful night at the People’s Choice Awards. The singer won four awards, including best female artist and social celebrity.
Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is also receiving some new hardware of his own. Kelce won athlete of the year, in competition against Coco Gauff, LeBron James, Lionel Messi and more.
Neither Swift nor Kelce attended the ceremony in L.A., and the couple has yet to make their official red carpet debut.
Swift just finished performing three “Eras Tour” shows in Melbourne, Australia, Feb. 16-18 — the biggest shows of her career so far.
And that’s a wrap on the 2024 People’s Choice Awards!

The 2024 People’s Choice Awards was a night to remember!
At the end of the night, the cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” swarmed the stage once they won the last award of the telecast, “the show.”
“This is the sixth time we’ve won this award,” Kevin McKidd said onstage.
“We would not be standing here if it was not for Shonda Rhimes, who created the show 20 years ago,” he added while speaking for the rest of the cast. “So this award is a testament to her vision and all the writers and creators and crew members of the show, past and present, who kept that vision alive. To our crew and production staff, we love you! And we are bringing this home to you.”
‘Barbie’ wins big in People’s Choice Awards categories that didn’t make it to the broadcast
With nearly 50 categories at the People’s Choice Awards, only some made it into the two-hour broadcast Sunday night.
All the winners can be found on the People’s Choice Awards website (or click here).
“Barbie” won big, taking home awards for best movie, best comedy movie, male movie star for Ryan Gosling and female movie star for Margot Robbie.
America Ferrera won movie performance of the year during the telecast.
Adam Sandler accepts People’s Choice Award pretending it’s People’s Sexiest Man
Is he the people’s icon or the people’s sexiest man?
Adam Sandler was awarded the People’s Icon Award at the 49th annual People’s Choice Awards Feb. 18, and took his acceptance speech in an unexpected direction.
Sandler said he doesn’t typically prepare a speech for a “big night like this.” This year, he came prepared — and his speech was inspired by a miscommunication.
Sandler misheard his agent on the phone telling him about the award. The comedian thought he had won People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive.
“So I wrote a speech for that and I don’t have one prepared for the icon thing, but I’m going to do the speech I wrote,” he began.
Channeling his signature comedic voice, Sandler continued, “Hello, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Adam Sandler and I am the Sexiest Man Alive. Can I get a, ‘Hell yeah’?”
He thanked the magazine’s “academy members of hotness and sexual attractiveness” for recognizing him as “the man who made our entire country the horniest this year and was by far the most talked about person in the bedroom.”
“I am trying to be gracious, People Magazine,” he continued, as he began to laugh at himself. “But I have to admit three words keep popping into my head right now: about freaking time.”
“For decades Adam Sandler has been waiting patiently on the sexy bench with his legs wide open, radiating sensuality, finger-licking desirability and a slight man bulge, tastefully displayed for his or her pleasure.
“But now that this award has finally been bestowed upon me, it will see proudly on my nightstand where it will witness many feats of romantic gymnastics performed for me by my fine as hell wife Jackelina,” he said, in reference to his wife, Jackie Sandler.
Rachel Zegler celebrates PCAs win with a hug and kiss from her co-star and boyfriend
Rachel Zegler won action movie star of the year at the People’s Choice Awards Sunday for her role in “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
Zegler played Lucy Gray Baird in “The Hunger Games” prequel, set more than 50 years before the events of Suzanne Collins’ first book and the Jennifer Lawrence-led film trilogy.
In her speech, she thanked Tom Blyth, who played a young Coriolanus Snow, for being “the best scene partner,” as well as her boyfriend, Josh Andrés Rivera, “the best life partner.” As Zegler walked onstage to accept the award, she shared a hug and kiss with Rivera.
Rivera played Sejanus Plinth in “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.” The couple also acted together in 2021’s “West Side Story.”
Jeremy Renner takes in standing ovation at 2024 People’s Choice Awards: ‘Feels good to be back’
Jeremy Renner was showered with a lot of love at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
When he stepped on stage to present the award for the TV performance of the year, Renner was met with a standing ovation from fans who were glad to see him back on his feet after he experienced a terrible snowplow accident on Jan. 1, 2023.
“We are so, so happy to have him back,” host Simu Liu said on stage before Renner walked out.
“The fans rock,” Renner said while taking the mic.
“It feels good to be back,” he added. “This year has been a heck of a journey and I’m happy to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best!”
America Ferrera gives Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie their flowers while accepting award for ‘Barbie’
America Ferrera beat a stacked crowd for the movie performance of the year award at the PCAs Sunday.
Competing against “May December’s” Natalie Portman and Charles Melton and Danielle Brooks from “The Color Purple,” Ferrera took home the statuette for her role as Gloria in “Barbie.”
In her speech, she thanked fans for being open about their experience watching the film. She also took a moment to give director Greta Gerwig and star Margot Robbie their flowers after they were notably snubbed from Oscar nominations.
“It feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of such a bold and inspiring masterpiece and to get to speak words of truth that so many of us needed to hear out loud. So thank you, Margot and Greta, I love you,” she said.
Ferrera’s performance touched hearts for her rousing speech about the contradictions expected of women today.
In her speech, she said “Barbie” represents an “invitation” to accept our full, unabashed “perfectly human” selves.
“Thank you, to every single one of you who accepted that invitation and came and joined our crazy, disco party, dream ballet, love bomb film,” she said.
Lenny Kravitz receives a standing ovation for career-spanning medley as PCAs music icon
Victoria Monet presented Lenny Kravitz with the music icon award at the People’s Choice Awards Sunday.
Kravitz performed a medley of songs spanning his legendary career, from “It Ain’t Over ‘til It’s Over” to “TK421.”
In his acceptance speech, he reflected on producing music that didn’t “fit nicely inside a box.”
“I turned down the money and the glitzy promises of fame and stardom, because I couldn’t live with myself doing something inauthentic,” he said.
He also spoke about the meaning of the word icon.
“An icon, to me, is someone who inspires and teaches others to believe in themselves and their direction, whatever that direction is,” he said.
Jennifer Aniston presents Adam Sandler with People’s Icon award at the PCAs
Adam Sandler received the People’s Icon award at the People’s Choice Awards Sunday, and it was presented to him by none other than his co-star and fellow icon Jennifer Aniston.
Aniston, who won the award in 2019, gushed about Sandler’s lengthy career in film, praising his legendary comedies like “Happy Gilmore” as well as his dramatic turn in “Uncut Gems.”
“Who’s more iconic than Adam Sandler? I don’t remember a time where Adam wasn’t a part of popular culture,” she said at the beginning of her tribute.
“Seemingly everything he touched turned to gold, and I was lucky enough to be in a few of them,” she added, smiling at Sandler.
Sandler and Aniston starred together in two “Murder Mystery” films as well as 2011’s “Just Go With It.”
Later in her speech, she honored Sandler’s loyalty to his friends in the entertainment industry.
“Being his friend has been one of the great joys of my life,” she said.

EXCLUSIVE: Natasha Bedingfield says this 1 question inspired ‘Unwritten’
At the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, Natasha Bedingfield revealed what inspired her to make her 2004 song “Unwritten,” which recently started trending again, thanks to it being featured in “Anyone But You.”
“I write my own life story,” she exclusively tells TODAY.com on the red carpet. “No one can write it for you.”
Bedingfield then recalled a popular question that children get asked all the time and said that also inspired her to write the song.
“When I was a kid, I was trying to do all the right things and I noticed that people go, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up?’ And I was like, ‘Well, that’s so annoying. How are you going to know what you’re going to be? You just have to kind of do it as you grow and you figure it out,” she says.
At the awards show, Bedingfield also got to meet Sydney Sweeney, who plays Bea in “Anyone But You.”
“She’s amazing,” Bedingfield says of meeting the actor.
The last People’s Choice Awards was in 2022. Why there wasn’t a show in 2023
Sunday marks the 49th annual People’s Choice Awards ceremony. But the 48th occurred more than a year ago, on Dec. 6, 2022.
Traditionally, the awards show aired in November or early December. But in June 2023, the next ceremony was set for Feb. 18, right in the middle of the traditional awards season, falling the same day as the BAFTAs and just six days before the SAG Awards.
As a result, there was no PCA ceremony in 2023.
Hosted by Kenan Thompson, the 2022 show honored Shania Twain with the music icon award, Ryan Reynolds with the people’s icon award and Lizzo as the people’s champion.
Laverne Cox and Natasha Bedingfield become real life BFFs at PCAs
Laverne Cox and Natasha Bedingfield had the sweetest interaction at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards.
While talking to Bedingfield about her 2004 song “Unwritten,” which has recently started trending again thanks to Sydney Sweeney’s new movie “Anybody But You,” Cox decided to recite some of the lyrics to Bedingfield after Bedingfield told her she was “starstruck” to see Cox in person.
“It’s such a beautiful song,” Cox said. “When you sing it now, do you connect with it in a different way 20 years later?”
“I think because I hear all the stories about how the song connects to people, so I really know what it means to people when I sing it and people sing along with me, thats the best kind of feeling as a songwriter, to have other people sing it with you,” Bedingfield said. “That’s what I love.”
After Cox thanked Bedingfield for speaking with her, the “Love Like This” singer then asked Cox if they could be friends.
“Yes, please!” she responded. “We’ll DM, we’ll do the whole thing.”
The two then smiled and bumped their butts together before Bedingfield walked away.

The People’s Choice Awards show host spoke about his family’s love for Swift on the red carpet, revealing that his partner, Allison Hsu, has attended not one, not two, but five “Eras Tour” shows.

Ariana Greenblatt shares fangirl moment she found out Michael Cera was her co-star in ‘Barbie’
Ariana Greenblatt wasn’t shy about her love for “Barbie” co-star Michael Cera on the People’s Choice Awards red carpet.
After being asked about being in the blockbuster film with Cera, the 16-year-old shared the cute moment she realized they would be starring together.
“I actually found out that he was in the movie walking away from the hair and makeup trailer into my trailer,” Greenblatt said. “And he just passed by me and I did a double take and I was like, ‘Oh, you’re joking right now.’”
She continued, “When I saw that his trailer said his name, Michael Cera, right in front of (my trailer), I texted all my friends. I texted all my family.”
Greenblatt called Cera “such a good dad” and said that the they bonded on set by playing Wordle together in the morning.
‘Hi, Barbie!’: America Ferrera and Margot Robbie complement outfits across an ocean
The two stars of “Barbie,” Margot Robbie and America Ferrera, may not be together on Sunday. But even across continents, they seemed to stay connected — through fashion.
Ferrera walked the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards in L.A. in a dress built with a blank tank top and a billowing pink skirt, with a bow sash on the front.
Robbie, meanwhile, was in London on Sunday for the BAFTAs, and her outfit had an almost identical color palette.
Robbie’s dress featured a pale pink center, outlined with a dramatic black bustier and detailing, paired with tall black gloves.
‘Ginny & Georgia’ star Katie Douglas teases Season 3
Katie Douglas, who plays Abby in “Ginny & Georgia,” can’t say much about the show’s highly anticipated Season Three. But she can tease that it’s going to be, “if you can imagine, a lot more emotional.”
“I hope some loose ends are tied up and people start to, kind o feel a little bit better,” Douglas told TODAY.com at the PCAs red carpet.
Netflix renewed “Ginny & Georgia” in May 2023 after a hit Season Two.
Lainey Wilson used to be a ‘Hannah Montana’ impersonator. She just won a Grammy and is set to perform at the PCAs
Lainey Wilson is set to perform during the People’s Choice Awards, just weeks after she won her first Grammy, taking home the golden gramophone for best country album.
“I’m still on cloud 9,” Wilson said on the PCAs red carpet.
Before this though, the country singer was a “Hannah Montana” impersonator for five years, working at birthday parties and nursing homes. She credits the experience with teaching her how to perform.
While Wilson’s never met her fellow female artist of the year nominee, Miley Cyrus, she’s spent time with her godmother, Dolly Parton, who has said the two are similar.
“I’ve never met Miley, but I think we’re soul sisters, I’ll tell you that,” Wilson joked.
EXCLUSIVE: Simu Liu wears ‘Barbie’ bracelet fan gave him on red carpet
When Simu Liu stopped to talk on the red carpet, he flashed a pink beaded bracelet that one of his fans gave him.
“Someone literally just gave it to me,” he exclusively tells TODAY.com, showing the bracelet to the camera that seemingly read, “I am Kenough.”
Liu also shared if there are any past hosts who he’s trying to channel tonight, as he gets ready to host this year’s People’s Choice Awards.
“I think Trevor (Noah)’s done such a great time with the Grammys, you know, looking back two years, Kenan Thompson hosted the People’s Choice in ’21 and ’22 and he’s awesome … just surrounded by a handful of talent,” he told TODAY.com.
Kandi Burruss says she’ll ‘never say never’ to returning to ‘Real Housewives’
Walking the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards, Kandi Burruss addressed whether she would eventually make a return to “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
“I have a lot of love for my Bravo family … you never say never right? But right now I have a lot of things that I’m going after that I don’t see it in my near future,” Burruss, who’s nominated for reality TV star of the year, said.
However, when talking to TODAY.com, Burruss said she has “no plans” to return to the Bravo franchise.
“I’m gone,” she added. “I left.”
Burruss announced her “Real Housewives” exit earlier this month after starring on the show for 14 seasons.
When discussing the reason behind her departure, Burruss said the network “allowed us to sit a little too long” since “RHOA” Season 15 premiered in May 2023.
How does voting work at the People’s Choice Awards?
The People’s Choice Awards is uniquely decided by, naturally, the people.
From Jan. 11-19, fans were able to visit www.votepca.com or X and vote for winners of various social and entertainment categories, including top movies, television shows, celebrities and athletes.
Votes that were submitted during Turbo Tuesday on Jan. 16 from 12 a.m.-11:59 p.m. ET counted twice.
Francesca Farago opens up about IVF, her relationship with Jesse Sullivan
Francesca Farago from “Too Hot to Handle” and “Perfect Match” is postponing her wedding as she goes through IVF with her partner, Jesse Sullivan.
Throughout 2023, the Netflix star posted videos on TikTok documenting the fertility process, including egg retrievals and embryo transfers.
“We want a huge wedding, but I think it would be so cute if we have a little baby in our arms, or two babies in our arms at the wedding,” she said. “So hopefully we can have a baby first.”
Laverne Cox also praised Farago and Sullivan for being “relatable” and dispelling misconceptions about relationships with transgender people. Sullivan, a TikTok star, is a transgender man.
“We can do everything everyone else can do, we can have a family,” Sullivan said. “We just do it with a little more fun.”
“I feel blessed. I have the most perfect person. I just feel so lucky. I feel like people are so judgmental for no reason. I think trans guys are the best,” Farago added.
Originally, Farago and the TikTok star told People their wedding would be set for May 2024.
Laverne Cox stuns in velvet bodysuit and netted skirt on the red carpet
Different red carpet, same fashionable Laverne Cox. The actor is hosting the E! red carpet for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and she showed up in a black velvet bodysuit, with a netted long skirt that attached to her finger.
She accessorized the look with black velvet gloves and silver jewelry. This hosting gig comes after Cox worked the red carpet at the Emmys last month.
Could there be a ‘Barbie’ reunion? Host Simu Liu teases cast appearances
At least one “Barbie” star is guaranteed to be in attendance at the People’s Choice Awards Feb. 18, as Simu Liu is set to take the stage to host the evening.
But the actor has suggested he could be joined by some of his co-stars at the event.
“I would wager that we’ll see a couple people from the movie,” Liu told “E! News” of the possible appearances. “I wanna leave a little bit to surprise as well.”
“Barbie” star Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Liu are all nominated for People’s Choice awards.
However, Robbie, Gosling and director Greta Gerwig were in London just hours earlier Sunday for the BAFTA Awards. The more than 10-hour flight required to get from London to L.A. makes their attendance at the People’s Choice Awards, which starts at 8 p.m. ET, extremely unlikely.
Who is performing at the People’s Choice Awards?
In addition to awarding fan-favorite films, TV shows and more, the People’s Choice Awards are set to feature several performances.
Lenny Kravitz, set to receive the music icon award, will give a “multi-song performance celebrating his legendary music catalog,” a press release about the People’s Choice Awards states. Shania Twain was the last recipient of the music icon award.
Other performers include Kylie Minogue, fresh off the heels of a Las Vegas residency and her viral 2023 hit “Padam Padam,” and Lainey Wilson, who just won a Grammy for best country album on Feb. 4.
Simu Liu promised no ‘Taylor slander’ when he hosts People’s Choice Awards
Simu Liu knows trouble will come if he messes with Swifties.
The “Barbie” actor was announced in January as the host for the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, and he is already taking his duties seriously.
After the news was announced, Liu knew all too well what he had to do: make a promise to Taylor Swift fans.
“There will be no taylor slander at the 2024 PCAs,” the Marvel star tweeted on Jan. 11. “That’s a personal guarantee.”
The tweet is seemingly a reference to Jo Koy’s comments about the superstar when he hosted the 2024 Golden Globe Awards.
The comedian made a joke about Swift during his opening monologue that fell flat. Koy poked fun at Swift for being frequently shown on the screen during her appearances at Kansas City Chiefs games when she cheers on boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The camera then panned over to the “Lover” singer, who pursed her lips and took a sip of her champagne.
