The stage was set on Saturday night for the National Premier Soccer League’s Great Lakes Conference championship match at Founders Field on a gorgeous a night as could’ve been asked for, and the soccer for Steel City FC met the occasion as the club rose to even greater heights with a second-consecutive Great Lakes Conference title, and continued pursuit of a second-consecutive U.S. Open Cup berth, with a 2-0 win over Akron City FC.

PSN’s Colton Coreschi was there to provide the match report, as Nathan Prex’s first half goal put Steel City in front, then Eben McIntyre’s header in the 68th minute put an exclamation point on the club’s emphatic victory, in a match played before a lively, standing room all the way around Founders Field in Cheswick.

In addition, Ava Kidder (@avatales on Instagram / @AvaTalesPV on Facebook), was there to capture the images from this momentous evening, and we have some shots from her photo gallery here.
