Potential tiger reportedly spotted in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) — Officers received a call early Monday morning regarding a sighting of a potential tiger.

According to Cincinnati Police, dispatchers received a call for “something that resembled a tiger.”

The Cincinnati Zoo told police they had their big cats in their enclosures.

“We have public safety staff on site 24-7,” said Michelle Curley, communications director at Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. “They received a call from CPD about the possible tiger sighting, and because we have cameras in place, it was easy for them to confirm that our big cats were all accounted for.”

Although officers found nothing during the search, no other sightings have since been reported.

In April 2021, Cincinnati Police responded to Price Hill for reports of monkeys climbing in trees. They were never found.
