‘Practical Magic 2′ is in the works with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in talks to return

(Gray News) – A “Practical Magic” sequel is officially in the works.

“It’s official! Practical Magic 2 is in development and coming soon,” Warner Bros. posted Monday on X, formerly Twitter.

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are in talks to return for the sequel, according to People.

On Sunday, it was announced that “Practical Magic” was available to stream on Max, starting rumors of a potential sequel.

“Practical Magic” is based on the 1995 novel by Alice Hoffman and stars Bullock as Sally Owens and Kidman as Gillian Owens, sisters who are part of a cursed family of witches. The curse ensures that if they ever find true love, the object of their love will be killed.

When Sally accidentally kills Gillian’s abusive ex-boyfriend, they try to resurrect him to cover up the murder, but his evil spirit possesses Gillian, and Sally must utilize her magic to free her sister.

The movie features the famous “midnight margaritas” scene, where the sisters drink tequila and dance to the song “Coconut” by Harry Nilsson.

Kidman and Bullock are expected to produce the sequel, according to People. Akiva Goldsman is expected to write the screenplay.
