Actor, producer and writer Clay Walker is the founder of Steven Walker Productions based in Aurora, Colorado. Walker is involved as the producer on the forthcoming project titled See Clearly Now. The forthcoming short film project See Clearly Now is a mentorship based film that will commence production in the forthcoming months, tackling subject matter that consists of bringing awareness to serious issues experienced by high school students (and adults for that matter) such as bullying, overcoming insecurities and learning to truly forgive. “The script is complete,” states Walker, “and there is confirmation regarding participation from one amazing school so far that is based in Aurora.” The mentors are established professionals in the film industry; they will be mentoring the students who are interested in participating in the short film mentorship opportunity – from crew to cast and production team, the writers and the entertainment attorney; the students (mentees) will have a unique opportunity to learn from them and to be involved in the short film production, See Clearly Now. The students will shadow their mentor. “Each mentor will be assigning one or two mentees when the first short film is complete,” states Walker, “and a second film will then be produced and submitted to film festivals throughout the United States, and perhaps on an international basis.”

Walker provided the story, produced and appeared as an actor in the film Diamond in the Rough, currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Tubi and Vudu and internationally in eight other countries.
The film Diamond in the Rough is about the young protagonist Michelle who faces hardships and brief homelessness. As summarized on IMDb, “With a mother battling drug and alcohol addiction since she was little, and a war veteran father battling extreme PTSD; violence and dysfunction are the norm for Michelle. But with a grandmother strong in her faith, and new friendships at school that break down walls, Michelle begins to realize that sometimes hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.”

Clay Walker launched his own production company Steven Walker Productions (SWP) to create motion pictures in all genres. Walker states, “We are dedicated to bringing film production to Colorado, and open to collaborate with anyone who’s passion includes telling meaningful stories. We are also on a mission to create jobs in television and film for all people who have a passion for excelling in the careers which exist within the film industry, including those who have had limited opportunities to showcase their talent in the past.”

The established film industry professionals who are involved in the production of See Clearly Now, who will be mentors to the high school students that participate are (as aforementioned,) Clay S. Walker on IMDb a producer on the project; and additionally, the writers on the project Carmen Mosley on IMDb and Carmen Lavelle; director Jennifer Tadlock, actress Eve Richards and Sally Koenig who is attached to the project as the production’s entertainment attorney. Additional cast that are part of the project include Elizabeth Potter, Ralph Williams, Christa Madrid, and Micah Brown.

Clay Walker concludes, “Our three principles that form the basis of our film and corresponding mentorship program include: education, empowerment and encouragement. No prior experience is necessary; it’s all about expanding the level of opportunities available to youth through the power of education. God created everyone to have unique gifts and talents to make a positive difference in this world. I created this short film mentorship program so that if a student has an interest in pursuing work as an actor/ actress, writer, director, producer, or set designer, for example; they will receive the education and opportunity needed to realize that working in their career of choice is not only possible, but completely achievable.”

Steven Walker Productions, led by Clay Walker will work with school principals, drama teachers, and teachers across the board to identify the first 15-20 students who will be mentored in the film project. The production company will provide a link on their website to assist students in submitting their information to be considered for the mentorship project. Walker states, “Students will be selected by my team and a member of their high school’s staff. Every student selected to participate must complete a brief, four question accountability questionnaire to hold each student accountable concerning what is required in order for each student to participate.”

Clay Walker often speaks at local schools throughout Denver and the surrounding area. Schools that are interested in becoming a part of the mentorship program should contact him via his website at Steven Walker Productions.

The production See Clearly Now is seeking a Co-Executive producer to be involved with the film project. In terms of identifying the right Co-Executive Producer Clay Walker states, “We wish to identify those who truly care about expanding the educational system to include providing training for future careers in the film industry. My team wants to help expand the level of opportunities that are available for youth, and we are seeking a Co-Executive Producer who shares our level of commitment and dedication for doing so.” Clay Walker invites anyone with interest in becoming involved in the forthcoming short film See Clearly Now to contact him at cwalker@swprod.world.
