Sandy Kenyon to Exit WABC For Broader ABC Stations Consulting Role


Sandy Kenyon, one of TV-news’ longest-serving entertainment reporters, will leave New York’s WABC, which has been his home since 2005, and move into a new role as a consultant ABC’s stations group. He will exit his current role on March 31.

Kenyon is expected to serve as a resource for Debra O’Connell, president of networks and TV business operations, Disney Entertainment Television, and will report to Chad Matthews, president, ABC Owned TV Stations. He will work closely with OTV entertainment reporting teams to develop strategies aimed at enhancing coverage and reach.

Kenyon has enjoyed a long career as an entertainment journalist. Before joining WABC, he was heard s every weekday morning on 1010 WINS Radio in New York. Prior to that, he was CNN’s chief entertainment correspondent in Los Angeles, where he developed his signature “Hollywood Minute” report. Kenyon began his TV career as an associate producer at WNET/Thirteen in New York. He is a graduate of Princeton University, where he co-hosted a national radio show, “Focus on Youth.”
