Responding to a fan account’s Instagram post, the singer expressed her feelings for Blanco, calling him her “absolute everything.” The singer, who had previously collaborated with him on her song ‘Single Soon,’ later shared a selfie with Blanco on her Instagram story. In 2020, Blanco praised Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, while referring to pop artists with makeup lines as “cookie-cutter pop artists.” Gomez defended her relationship with Blanco despite fans’ claims that he had seemingly shaded her in the past. “I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in my life at all,” she commented.
