Sony Music Entertainment – Director, Product Management – Artist Services (US)


As the Director, Product Management Artist & Label Services team at The Orchard, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivering of global marketing campaigns for priority artists across the Artist & Label Services roster. You will work closely with multiple teams, including artists, managers, labels, and the various Orchard teams to ensure that all projects run smoothly and efficiently. You will be the main point person both internally and externally responsible for creating and implementing high-level, holistic marketing campaigns, leading all communications, driving the execution, assigning tasks and deadlines across teams, monitoring progress, and ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date.

This is an exciting role that requires a highly collaborative leader who can manage cross-functional teams while applying strategic thinking to ensure successful execution of campaigns and foster relationships with partners. The ideal candidate is an experienced marketer, with a strong track record of successful campaigns in which they led, and understands the creative process.

What You’ll Do
  • Conceptualize and execute global artist marketing plans from inception to completion for priority artists signed to the Artist & Label Services roster
  • Own the marketing, strategy and audience development efforts across assigned priority artists on the Artist & Label Services roster. This includes the creation, implementation and execution of marketing plans that focus on tailor made creative concepts, driving music consumption, engagement and audience development
  • Act as the central hub and point of contact across priority artists on the Artist Services roster. Lead all internal and external communications around project updates
  • Collaborate with the internal Orchard teams, including but not limited to Retail, Brand Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Sync, and Radio to maximize opportunities and reach targets across given artist projects
  • Administer and manage artist project marketing spending, keeping real-time track of allocation. Work with Artist & Label Services team management to measure the impact of these spends
  • Handle the hiring and coordination of third-party partners for artist campaigns, including but not limited to press, radio, and creative agencies
  • Proactively identify and activate potential growth opportunities, and viral & social moments by implementing reactive marketing tactics as artist campaigns are underway
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget
  • Highlight industry trends and marketing opportunities; present findings to the wider team
  • Work with artist teams and the Artist & Label Services Label Management team to ensure on-time delivery of audio assets, metadata, and artwork in line with Orchard specifications and deadlines
  • Attend and represent the Artist & Label Services team in various industry events
Who You Are
  • 7+ years of experience in project management, preferably in the music industry
  • Previous work collaborating with brands
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on-time, within scope and budget
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and mitigate project risks

California Pay Range

$95,000—$105,000 USD
