Earlier today, for a city not so far away, Fan Expo Chicago announced “Star Wars” star Mark Hamill will appear at the August con.
The announcement comes as folks are celebrating Star Wars Day (as well as Free Comic Book Day).

Hamill skyrocketed to fame as hero the movie franchise’s Luke Skywalker and later voiced the character The Joker in “Batman: The Animated Series.”
Formerly Wizard World Comic Con Chicago, Fan Expo Chicago runs August 16-18 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
It’ll be a rare appearance for Hamill, who will tell stories and answer questions during a panel, and do autograph and photo sessions throughout that weekend.

Other “Star Wars” universe actors attending the con include Diana Lee Inosanto (“Ahsoka,” “The Mandalorian”) Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo, Gina Carano (“The Mandalorian”), Eman Esfandi (“Ahsoka”) and Alan Tudyk (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”).

Non “Star Wars”-related guests slated are William Shatner; Marisa Tomei, Richard Dreyfuss, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick, Morena Baccarin; Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Jamie Kennedy, Laurie Metcalf, Sean Gunn, Mario Lopez and “MythBusters” host Adam Savage.
Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. eastern time May 7 at fanexpochicago.
