Students SAY YES TO THE PROM as the Ultimate Prom Shopping Experience Shines in its 12th Year

2024 Prom Tour Coming to New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles

Warner Bros. Discovery (Nasdaq: WBD) today announced that SAY YES TO THE PROM, its time-honored tradition of giving deserving high school students the opportunity to shop for a complete prom look and garner valuable career exposure and mentoring, will return for its 12th year.

In partnership with Macy’s, the WBD initiative will provide 1,500 students, the most of any Prom Tour, with one-on-one styling sessions with Monte Durham of TLC’s SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA and WBD employees in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to help them develop their own unique prom look and style.

This year’s SAY YES TO THE PROM experience includes a selection of nearly 3,000 on-trend dresses and thousands of shoes and accessories from Macy’s, as well as custom tuxedo fittings and trend-forward menswear rentals provided by Men’s Wearhouse, the country’s leading retailer of men’s formal apparel. Cosmetics were donated by Glamnetic, Glamlite, and Lottie London, and global beauty leader L’Oréal USA donated thousands of products including fragrances, makeup, and cosmetic tools for hair and makeup consultations from established CNN stylists – all thoughtfully curated to get students looking and feeling their best for a night to remember. Branded “Team Prom/TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress” t-shirts for employee volunteers were donated by Trevco.

Dates and locations for the 2024 SAY YES TO THE PROM Tour include:

  • February 5-6 in Atlanta, GA, with affiliate partner Comcast, supporting schools in the city of Atlanta, Clayton County, Dekalb County, Fulton County, as well as the Cristo Rey Network and KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools.
  • February 12-13 in Manhattan, NY, with affiliate partner Verizon, supporting schools from all five boroughs of New York City in partnership with New York City Public Schools as well as the Cristo Rey Network and KIPP NYC Schools.

“For over a decade, SAY YES TO THE PROM has made prom possible for nearly 7,000 deserving juniors and seniors across the country while also opening doors to the next chapter of their lives,” said Adria Alpert Romm, Chief People and Culture Officer, Warner Bros. Discovery. “Through this program, we are able to connect students with impactful resources and offer guidance as they explore job opportunities and begin their career journey as young professionals.”

“Macy’s is proud to continue its partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery for the SAY YES TO THE PROM initiative and provide students with the opportunity to celebrate this very special high school experience,” said Sari Summers, buyer for junior dresses at Macy’s. “We are excited for these deserving students to choose from our wide selection of designs and styles for prom season.”

“We are honored to partner with Warner Bros. Discovery on SAY YES TO THE PROM for the third year in a row. True to our brand’s commitment to making you look and feel your best, we hope our efforts to celebrate these deserving students will create an unforgettable prom experience,” said John Tighe, President of Tailored Brands, parent company of Men’s Wearhouse.

Students will be provided with resources to learn about careers in the media and entertainment industry, including tailored presentations exploring film and TV production roles in partnership with RE:IMAGINE. In addition, SAY YES TO THE PROM works with the Emma Bowen Foundation, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, The Posse Foundation, and T. Howard Foundation to offer juniors and seniors from underserved communities information on mentorship, internship, and scholarship resources that go beyond the prom and give them the confidence and tools necessary to achieve their future goals and dreams.

WBD will also work with The Enchanted Closet and Becca’s Closet to donate items including dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories to give thousands of students the opportunity to have a memorable prom experience and create memories they will cherish for years to come. In 2023, through SAY YES TO THE PROM donation drives, employees donated nearly 5,000 items.
