Taylor Byron Barr is an actor, model, producer, content creator and social influencer.
Barr discussed AI (artificial intelligence) on the future of the entertainment industry, and the significance of mental health.
‘ManHood’ project
He opened up about his project “ManHood.” “It has been going well,” he admitted. “The cast of ‘ManHood’ is great. We are working on putting the project together and getting it to the right spots.”
“We are turning one of our projects, ‘NoHo,’ into a feature film, and it is getting edited right now and getting ready to be finished. It is post-production, and we are looking to put it on a streaming service,” he added.
AI on the future of the film and TV industry
Barr explored the pros and cons of AI on the future of the film and TV business.
“AI is beneficial, and it hurts at the same time,” he said. “I know it changes the landscape when it comes to post-production. With AI, things can get done cheaper and lot faster.”
“At the same time, it can lead to us actors being out of work. Just imagine in five years from now how different the landscape is going to be. A lot of us might be out of business and out of work. I’m going to play it by ear,” he explained.
“As a society, I don’t think it’s in our best interest to get rid of people, even if it can be done. We don’t want people out of work, so I don’t think it’s going to turn the world into ‘Terminator 2,’ or anything like that,” he added.
Barr: ‘Mental health is extremely important in the digital age’
Barr shared his thoughts on insights on the importance of mental health, especially in this Internet age that we are living in.
“I care a lot about mental health myself,” he noted. “I definitely am in therapy and there should be no shame in saying that.”
“With all the digital media that we have, all people do is compare themselves to each other and their lives to one another. Comparison is the thief of joy, and that can make you feel bad, and we can all become a victim of it,” he acknowledged.
“The digital age is a spectrum and it’s very important that we all detach,” he said. “It is important to have face to face conversations, hug your loved ones, go for a walk outdoors and in nature. Feel the air, breathe it, and enjoy the sun. Mental health is very crucial these days.”
‘Oppenheimer’
Barr shared that he watched the seven-time Oscar-winning film “Oppenheimer,” starring Cillian Murphy, while traveling on an airplane recently, and he found it “really good.”
“I liked ‘Peaky Blinders’ so I knew that I was going to like Cillian Murphy in ‘Oppenheimer’,” he admitted. “The creator just confirmed that Cillian Murphy signed up to do the ‘Peaky Blinders’ film, so I am excited about that.”
‘Justified’ project
He also noted that he has “a couple of things brewing” with Dr. Louis Jones’ “Justified.” “It is making its rounds because we haven’t fully released it,” he said.
Stage of his life: ‘Wow!’
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Barr exclaimed, “Wow.”
“I look around me and I realize that I’m blessed… I’m married, I’m acting, modeling and running my property business. I’m an adult and it’s crazy,” he said.
A sequel to the comedy ‘Pussie Control’
Barr shared that he recently spoke to Bryan Bostic, the writer, director and creator of the comedy “Pussie Control,” and he revealed that there will be a sequel to it. “We are working on that,” he admitted.
New Lifetime movie
Recently, was featured in the Lifetime film “Blackmail, Lies, and Murder,” where he plays Mike. “It came out the week before the last one,” he said. “That was a fun little project to do.”
‘Minx’ on Starz
Although the Starz TV series “Minx” got cancelled, he stated that he was honored to be a part of it. “I really enjoyed playing Otto,” he said. “Otto was a great character,” he recalled.
‘Tough Love: Atlanta’
He also filmed Season 2 of “Tough Love: Atlanta,” where he plays the role of Lorenzo. “I am excited for people to check it out,” he concluded.
