Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been turning heads in New York City for the past week, with flashy looks at the U.S. Open and New York Fashion Week. But it appears Swift took the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards solo on Wednesday, September 11 — making her red-carpet appearance alone.
Though the two have been dating for the past year, Swift, 34 has been busy with her Eras Tour and Kelce, 34, had a packed schedule with the 2023-2024 NFL season. But, the pop star managed to carve out some quality time for the VMAs.
While on the red carpet, Swift dazzled in a punk rock look, wearing a yellow and black plaid dress which opened up to show black shorts underneath.
Swift’s arrival to the red carpet comes just one day after she endorsed U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Swift is nominated for 12 awards tonight, including Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for her song with Post Malone, “Fortnight,” (which the duo ended up winning). With the coveted nomination, Swifties are anticipating a potentially big announcement.
Back in 2022, after she won the Video of the Year Award for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” Swift announced her 10th studio album in her acceptance speech, before revealing its title — Midnights — and its cover art on social media just hours later.
In addition to her long-awaited presidential endorsement, as well as her red carpet debut at the 2024 VMAs, Swift has also made headlines with her and Kelce’s adorable jam session at the U.S. open, as well as helping boost The Darkness’ music streams. She has also had fans divided as she was seen embracing her friend Brittany Mahomes — who has recently come under fire for her alleged support of Donald Trump.
Could the fact that Swift is making both positive and controversial headlines which was the theme of her 2017 album Reputation mean a new Taylor’s Version is on the way?
