Now relocated to a strategic spot almost exactly between the Hamilton and Shore Malls, they excel at both standard and gourmet Italian American food, and their smoky, crisp pies are consistently among the areas finest.
On the opposite side of the Hamilton Mall, Cavallino Nero (4760 Black Horse Pike) offers remarkably high-quality Italian-American food including impressive evening additions. Plus, the kitchen here generally offers unique, traditional holiday home style preparations that you won’t often find in other restaurants.
Completing a triumvirate of delectable Italian victuals, look no further than Galloway Township’s Tre Figlio (500 West White Horse Pike). Critically lauded for several decades, this charming little trattoria makes for an ideal place to unwind after a stressful day of work or shopping.
Further to the east, we hear good things about the food at Egg Harbor Township’s Mangia on the Greens, located at McCullough’s Emerald Links golf course on Ocean Heights Avenue.
They’ll also be featuring high-energy rockers No Pressure three times in the next several weeks. The veteran band — several were former members of local legends the Bleeding Hearts — pounds out an eclectic song list of classic, grunge, metal and pop rock, including some real oddities. Catch them here Saturday, Dec. 29, Monday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve) or Friday, Jan. 18.
If we were handing our yearly awards for redesign and improvement, the Atlantic City Bar and Grill (1219 Pacific Ave.) would easily head up that list. Formerly a bit dated, but with a steady, reliable clientele of construction workers and local casino folks, the main service area was recently renovated with a classic sports bar theme.
