Time, date, weather forecast, route

The celebration of the Boston Celtics’ NBA championship will continue this week as thousands of Boston sports fans ― who are no strangers to the iconic rolling rallies and duck boat parades that celebrated multiple championship titles in the past two decades ― flock to the city once again.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu announced Tuesday that the rolling rally parade will be on Friday, June 21 starting at 11 a.m.

The parade will celebrate the Celtics’ blowout 106-88 victory over the Dallas Mavericks., to win the NBA title in five games. The win marks the team’s 18th title, breaking a tie with the Los Angeles Lakers and setting a new record.

Here’s what to know and the celebrations.

What time is the Celtics parade?

The parade will be at 11 a.m., according to the mayor’s office. That’s the time the parade has started to celebrate recent Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics wins.

What does the weather forecast look like for Friday?

The highs will be in the low 80s in Boston with a possibility of thunderstorms, according to the forecast from our media partner WCVB/StormCenter 5.

Part of the reason it’s rumored that Friday is the date is because the temperatures will be marginally cooler than than the scorchers predicted for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as a heat wave is set to settle over the region.

What will the parade route be?

The parade is set to begin at the front of TD Garden on Causeway Street, then roll by City Hall Plaza and Boston Common on Tremont Street before ending by the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street.

More details will be shared at a 1:30 p.m. press conference.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
