Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are one of Hollywood’s favorite couples for so many reasons. Not only are they beautiful, charitable, and loving, but they know when to poke fun at one another in a way that gets even fans involved in on the joke.

Blake and Ryan originally met on the set of Green Lantern back in 2010, and by Oct 2011, they started dating. They married less than a year later and welcomed four children named: James, born in Dec 2014, Inez, born in Sept 2016, Betty, born in Oct 2019, and another child they welcomed in Feb 2023, whose name they haven’t publicly disclosed yet.

Now along with being a super-sweet family of six, the reason so many adore them is for their hilarious way of trolling one another. Whether it be a birthday post or at a red carpet event, these two know when to sneakily (or not so sneakily) fit in the perfect joke.

In honor of Ryan’s birthday today on Oct 23, let’s take a walk down memory lane (all with the help of Instagram posts dating all the day back to 2016)!

Check out every single time Ryan and Blake made the internet cackle with their hysterical Instagram shoutouts below:

Deadpool Puns

Blake’s first post featuring Ryan on her Instagram was back in Feb 6, 2016, ahead of the premiere of Deadpool. They posed on a promo poster, with Ryan grabbing her breast. She posted it with the caption reading, “Two Deadpools, one cup. Your turn #💀💩L,” which was a play on a certain sexual video that went viral years back.

#NoFilter in More Ways Than One

Back in Nov 6, 2017, Ryan poked fun at Blake’s dressed-down on-set look with a photo and the caption reading, “#nofilter.”

Cropped Correctly?

Back on Aug 25, 2017, Ryan gave Blake a birthday shoutout that sweetly read, “Happy Birthday to my amazing wife,” but he strategically cropped it to make him the star of the show.

Oh.. and Blake.

Let’s rewind to Aug 14, 2019, and read Ryan’s shoutout until the end: “My first job was delivering newspapers for the Vancouver Sun. The house in the painting is my childhood home. My brothers and I spent years trying to kill each other on that lawn. There are a lot of Easter eggs in the painting, including my idol, John Candy on the front page of the newspaper. The house no longer stands but it’s a living, breathing thing in my head. This piece of art is the greatest present my wife has ever given me. It was created by @dannygalieote. If there’s ever a fire, I’m grabbing this first. I’ll come back for Blake.”

Candid Camera

What looked like a simple birthday shotuout from Ryan to Blake on Aug 25, 2018 turned into a bunch of candid pics we know so many would ask him to delete of if it were them.

Sweet & Funny

Now this birthday shoutout to Blake on Aug 25, 2022 was definitely on the sweeter side (with a touch of hilarity to add to the end)! He wrote, “Happy Birthday, @blakelively. You’re spectacular. I’m not sure if you were born or invented. Also, thank you for urging me to leave the house every now and again. ❤️”

IG Official

For the premiere of Free Guy, he posted a series of photos of him and Blake and mocked how she wanted them to be “IG official,” despite being married on featured on each other’s profiles numerous times before 2021. He posted the photos with the caption reading, “What a huge night for #FreeGuy. And what a huge night for @blakelively because this means we’re Instagram official. I know how important that was to her.”

Saucy Hairdresser

Back on Feb 14, 2021, Blake posted a video of Ryan helping her dye her hair and cheekily said, “That time I f*d my hairdresser.”

Punny Pickers

We love a good pun and on Oct 23, 2019, Blake posted a photo of her picking Ryan’s nose with the caption reading, “I picked a good one. Happy birthday @vancityreynolds 🎈”

Early Voters

When early voting back on Oct 23, 2020, Ryan make a joke about how Blake got to push him to vote, saying, “This is my first time voting in America. I’d like to thank my wife Blake for making my first time so gentle and loving. It was super scary at first, then exciting and now I’m a little tired. But proud. #VoteEarly.”

Poking Fun

Another movie premiere Ryan took the opportunity to poke fun at himself and Blake was during A Simple Favor. He wrote, “The most surprising thing about the @asimplefavor party wasn’t finding out I’m only four feet tall. It’s learning I’ll probably die alone.”
