Tina Knowles has been known to defend her daughters against criticism online, and now she has called out Beyoncé’s country music haters. Beyoncé has become the first black woman to ever have a number-one hit on the US country charts for her song ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’ Knowles called out those claiming Beyoncé feels she owns country music on Instagram, saying, “We have always celebrated cowboy culture.” “We also always understood that it was not just about it belonging to white culture only. In Texas there is a huge Black cowboy culture. Why do you think that my kids have integrated it into their fashion and art since the beginning?” wrote Knowles on Instagram. She shared that they would all go to “rodeos every year and my whole family dressed in western fashion.” Since the surprise release of Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ’16 Carriages’, both songs have debuted in the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100.
