One of WWE’s most-anticipated and exciting events of the year, Money in the Bank, is Saturday night.
The two Money in the Bank ladder matches headline the premium live event held this year in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. WWE legend and Toronto native Trish Stratus will be the host of Money in the Bank.
Here’s what to know about Money in the Bank, including the location and how to watch.
What is Money in the Bank?
It’s one of WWE’s premium live events held typically in the summer. The event features two marquee ladder matches with a winner crowned when he/she grabs a briefcase using the ladders ringside above the ring. The contract in the briefcase gives them a future championship match any time, any place. They have a year to “cash in” the contract.

The kickoff show featured many of the competitors in a pep rally, press conference type of environment.
You can watch it on the WWE’s YouTube channel.

Money in the Bank 2023 winners
Damian Priest won last year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match to earn a title shot. He held the briefcase for 281 days or about nine months — the longest of any man — until Wrestlemania XL in April. Priest successfully cashed in on recently crowned WWE champion Drew McIntyre, who had just defeated Seth Rollins for the championship.
It was Priest’s first WWE championship.
Iyo Sky, a member of the faction Damage CTL, won last year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. She used her contract a month later at Summerslam where she had a successful cash in on Bianca Belair, who moments earlier had won the championship over Asuka in a triple threat match that also included Charlotte Flair.
Sky’s championship reign ended at Wrestlemania this year.
Money in the Bank history, success rate
The men have a longer history of the match. It started years before WWE made it into the focus of a premium live event. There have been 26 MITB men’s ladder matches with a nearly 80% success rate on the cash in.
WWE added a women’s MITB ladder match in 2017 to the premium live event. Carmella won the first match.
Every woman who has won the briefcase has had a successful cash in to become a champion.
