Warner Bros. Discovery is asking high school students across the U.S. to “Say Yes to the Prom” for the 12th year in a row with its initiative that will give 1,500 juniors and seniors from underserved communities a chance to put together a complete prom look, courtesy of Macy’s and Men’s Wearhouse.
This year’s prom tour will include one-on-one styling sessions with Monte Durham of TLC’s “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta,” and Warner Bros. Discovery staffers in New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles, and features a selection of nearly 3,000 dresses and thousands of shoes and accessories from Macy’s, as well as custom tuxedo fittings and menswear rentals provided by Men’s Wearhouse.
As part of the “Say Yes to the Prom” event, participating students will also be provided with educational resources on careers in the media and entertainment industry, including presentations on film and TV production roles in partnership with RE:IMAGINE.
“For over a decade, ‘Say Yes to the Prom’ has made prom possible for nearly 7,000 deserving juniors and seniors across the country while also opening doors to the next chapter of their lives,” Warner Bros. Discovery chief people and culture officer Adria Alpert Romm said. “Through this program, we are able to connect students with impactful resources and offer guidance as they explore job opportunities and begin their career journey as young professionals.”
Warner Bros. Discovery works with the Emma Bowen Foundation, Hispanic Scholarship Fund, The Posse Foundation and T. Howard Foundation to offer these mentorship, internship and scholarship resources.
Cosmetics for the event have been donated by Glamnetic, Glamlite and Lottie London, as well as L’Oreal USA, which has provided fragrances, makeup, and cosmetic tools for hair and makeup consultations from stylists at Warner Bros. brand CNN. WBD will also work with The Enchanted Closet and Becca’s Closet to donate items including dresses, suits, shoes, and accessories.
