Tyla has just added another milestone to her growing list of achievements. The SA star made her major television performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
On Tuesday night, Tyla made her US TV debut on Fallon’s show in New York, performing her hit Water.
Tyla announced her performance on Instagram, captioning the post, “See you there, Tygers”.
Tyla previously became the youngest South African to make the US Billboard Hot 100 with her global chart-topper Water. It was the first time in 55 years, since Hugh Masekela’s Grazing in the Grass in 1968, that a solo song by a South African musician made it onto the chart.
Tyla had her first official TV interview and performance earlier this month after appearing on the Swedish talk show Bianca.
On Bianca, Tyla said of her song Water, “Initially, I knew the song was a hit. I loved the song from the beginning.”
She also expressed her excitement when huge artists posted it on their stories and started messaging her, saying they loved the song.

In an interview with Apple Music’s The Dotty Show, Tyla also said:
“I’m ready to show everyone, for real. Water is killing it, and I just want people to have more music that’s my sound and vibe so they can get to know me as an artist. I don’t want to just be a song, so I’m very excited.”
