The Queen of Pop returns home to Michigan on Monday, Jan. 15 with a stop at Little Caesars Arena for her Celebration World Tour, and Madonna fans all over Michigan cannot wait.
Madonna hasn’t played a concert in Detroit in nearly a decade, so it will be a welcome return for the pop star who invented being a pop star.
The show will obviously be thrilling, but what is more exciting is who will be her special celebrity guest at the Detroit stop.
If you’ve been following the Celebration Tour, you already know that a secret celebrity guest has surprised audiences at every stop of the tour. The celeb comes out during the “Vogue” portion of the show, and get to judge Madonna’s dancers as they vogue and dance for the audience. M and her guest hold up signs that read “10″ or CHOP.”
The tour started in Europe, and guests so far have included her daughter, Lourdes Leon, Diplo, designer Donatella Versace and friend and actress Debi Mazar. Since she’s hit the States, actress Julia Garner, singer Maggie Rogers and even Santa Claus have been special guest judges.
So that got me thinking — who was going to be the guest in Detroit? Could it be someone really famous, especially since Detroit considers Madonna one of their own? Let’s take some guesses that will probably all end up being wrong.
Silvio Ciccone
In case you don’t know, this is Madonna’s father. The man is 92-years-old, so I doubt he’s going to hit the stage at Little Caesars Arena and judge a bunch of dancers, but stranger things have happened at a Madonna concert!
Eminem
I’m pretty sure Madonna and Eminem have some sort of long-standing beef that no one is really sure what it’s about, but how wild would it be if Eminem came out?! He has a tendency to make surprise appearances at Detroit concerts, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Plus, he was at the Lions game last night! Just come downtown for another fun night out!
Big Sean
Someone else who was at the Lions game last night, and probably doesn’t have beef with Madonna. Big Sean would actually be a great person to bring out. He’d be a good sport about it and seems like he’d have some fun with the idea of being a guest judge.
Dan Campbell
The Lions made franchise history last night at Ford Field, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Madonna was at the game last night (as were many other random celebrities), and maybe she got to meet head coach Dan Campbell well telling him congrats on the win? It’s pretty doubtful, but if anyone from the Lions were to show up at Madonna’s concert to celebrate, I’d be him. Like Big Sean, you can tell he’d be having some fun with it.
Big Gretch
I’m not sure if Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is a Madonna fan, but considering she became a teenager in the ‘80s, there’s a high chance that she would love to sing along to “Express Yourself” at a Madonna concert. Plus, Madonna hasn’t had any politicians come out on the tour yet! Even if she doesn’t come out during the show, I hope she’d at least attend it. I love the idea of Big Gretch dancing the night away at a Madonna concert.
A random celebrity that has no Detroit connections
This is probably the most likely situation that will play out at Little Caesars Arena tonight. Chances are that it will just be a random celebrity that is friends with Madonna. She could very well try and find someone with a Detroit connection, but are they available, and will they be down? The guests in other cities have all been pretty random with no connections to the cities on the tour, so it will probably be that way here, too. But still, it’s fun to think about Madonna pulling out something special for her home state show, right?
