Fans are calling out celebrity chef Rachael Ray again for her latest post on social media after she sparked concerns about her health earlier this month.
In an Instagram post by Ray on Friday, September 27, where she teased the upcoming “Burger Bash” in Brooklyn, New York, fans were quick to note that the photo could not have been a recent one, especially given the 56-year-old’s appearance as of late.
“This is definitely not a recent picture. Have you seen her on some posts that she has done? She doesn’t look anything like this. I hope she is doing OK,” one user wrote in the comments, while another agreed, “This is not what she looks like today.” A third pleaded, “Please focus on your health we love you and God bless you š.”
Ray captioned the photo, “Excited to be hosting @nycwff’s 16th annual @bluemoonbrewco’s Burger Bash šš„ once again! Last year was so much fun, running it back was a no brainer š§ ,” suggesting the photo was a throwback from 2023. However, it is unknown what year the pic is actually from.
The Rachael Ray Show alum’s health initially raised concerns in early September when fans voiced worries about her well-being after noticing what they perceived as “slurred” speech during recent Instagram videos. Speculation ranged from strokes to Bell’s palsy, to even being under the influence of alcohol. Her representative offered no comment when approached by TMZ.
Ray’s signature raspy voice is due to childhood croup. In a 2006 interview with People, she explained, “I lose my voice a lot… I don’t have the strongest vocal cords to begin with.” She mentioned how she has worked with a voice doctor to manage her condition over the years.
In 2008, rumors started circulating about Ray having throat cancer, prompting her rep to clarify that she would undergo “very minor surgery” to remove a benign cyst from her vocal cord. “Rachael is the picture of health,” spokesperson Charlie Dougiello stated at the time, emphasizing that the procedure was routine.
