Wolves take fourth in GNAC All-Sports Championship for 2023-24


PORTLAND — Western Oregon took fourth place in the 2023-24 GNAC All-Sports Championship when the conference released the results Wednesday.

The Wolves finished with a score of 6.46 – finishing behind Western Washington (9.29), Simon Fraser (7.36) and Central Washington (6.46) in the 10-team standings. Following WOU was Alaska Anchorage (6.11), Northwest Nazarene (6.06), Seattle Pacific (5.08), Saint Martin’s (4.19), Montana State Billings (3.82) and Alaska (3.60).

The Dormeyer System is used to determine the standings. The score is an average based on each school’s final placing in each conference sport. Teams receive 10 points for a first-place finish with subsequent teams receiving a score based on the number of teams that participate in that sport. Scores are based on final regular-season placing in baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, softball and volleyball; and final placing in conference tournaments/meets in men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s golf, women’s rowing, men’s & women’s indoor track and field and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. 

On the men’s side, WOU took third place at 6.88 – finishing only behind Western Washington (8.40) and Central Washington (7.03). As for the women, WOU took seventh at 4.96 points.
